Weaving for Women is a grassroots organization founded by widowed ethnic Karen Burmese refugee, Daisy Dwe.

Weaving for Women has two main goals: the first is to provide vocational training and employment for young, marginalized refugee women in a traditional Karen handicraft; the second is to assist the local refugee community in whatever capacity possible with profits from sales of 100% cotton products.

In her continued effort to assist marginalized women, Daisy Dwe has initiated a sewing program for displaced women.
The objective of Sangkhla Women’s Sewing Cooperative is to provide a safe working environment for women who would otherwise work in the sex trade.

Drawing on international financial supporters, Daisy has been able to purchase sewing machines and provide training and employment for several young women.
